Dublin
is a city steeped in a history which dates back to the first settlements in the
area just over 1000 years ago. The area was settled by Vikings and was first called
Dubh Linn (Black Pool) after the dark waters of the Liffey. Dublin
also has a very interesting more recent history. When on O'Connell street has
a close look around at the buildings. While some were rebuilt after the 1916 rising,
some of the older buildings have bulit holes. Since then Dublin has transformed
from a city of massive slums to one of the most develop cityscapes in the world,
